Gecko’s new venue
Mike Gowan and Mike Quillen have enjoyed a presence at The Landings in Sarasota since the opening of their Gecko’s Grill & Pub in 1992. That flagship restaurant relocated to Stickney Point in 2017, but on March 15 the Gecko’s Hospitality Group founders will return to the 4870 S. Tamiami Trail location with the opening of their latest venture, Signature Events & Catering.
The 1850 square foot interior, in combination with a 1500 square foot covered patio, will provide seating for up to 150 guests, will provide a venue for various events including elegant weddings and casual happenings. Amenities include state of the art sound system and projector screen, custom menus, full bar, indoor and/or outside dining area, ample parking and the convenient location.
“Mike and Mike, Chef Shaun Frick and I are excited to welcome our longtime guests to host their events with us in the new venue,” said Michelle Graber, Gecko’s Hospitality Group’s director of catering, in a statement. “The kitchen is perfectly suited to expanding our creative capabilities and will serve our onsite and offsite catering demands beautifully.”
Locally owned and operated Gecko’s Hospitality Group includes Gecko’s Grill & Pub locations in Sarasota and Manatee counties, as well as Smacks Burgers & Shakes in Sarasota, Dry Dock Waterfront Grill on Longboat Key, Dockside Waterfront Grill in Venice and Red Barn Bar, in Sarasota.
