The Gecko’s owners have announced a restaurant opening back in the same location where it all began for the local hospitality group nearly three decades ago.
Mike Gowan and Mike Quillen, who established their first Gecko’s restaurant at The Landings in Sarasota in 1992, plan to unveil their new dining concept Tripletail Seafood & Spirits there in early 2021.
Gowan oversaw Tripletail’s dining room, bar design and new kitchen with the collaborative insights of Wil Stutzman, general manage of Gecko’s more upscale, seafood-focused sister restaurant Dry Dock Waterfront Grill on Longboat Key.
